It is not always necessary to block a user on Clubhouse. But there are times when it’s the absolute best thing to do.
If you’ve been receiving abusive messages through Backchannel or someone is spamming your room members, it may be time to take action and remove them from your Clubhouse life. Whatever your reason for wanting to block a Clubhouse user is, this article will show you how.
What Happens When You Block a User on Clubhouse?
Blocking a user on Clubhouse means that they’ll be unable to find or join any Clubhouse room you create. Blocked users will also not be able to join rooms where you’re a speaker or moderator.
Clubhouse also hides rooms from your feed when someone you’ve blocked is speaking in them. So that you’re aware a room is being hidden, Clubhouse displays a capsule at the bottom of your feed. You can tap the capsule to reveal the room if you wish to.
How to Block a User on Clubhouse
Follow these steps to block an offensive Clubhouse user:

The other way requires that you know their username. If you’ve blocked a user for a while but would now like to unblock them, this is the method for you:
- Navigate to the user’s profile by searching for their Clubhouse profile on the search tab.
- Tap the three dots on their profile.
- Select Unblock.
