Facebook Makes It Easier to Find Out Where to Get Your COVID-19 Vaccine

Social

More and more Americans are becoming eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, which means that more people will be searching for information about the rollout in their state. In order to make the information-gathering process a bit easier, Facebook is launching a notification that will give you information about the COVID-19 vaccines based on your location.

Facebook outlined the new notification in a post on the About Facebook blog, stating that its goal is to connect people with relevant information about the COVID-19 vaccines.

When you become eligible for the vaccine in your state, you’ll see a notification pop up at the top of your News Feed that will tell you that you can now receive the vaccine. From here, you can tap Find a Vaccine to use Facebook’s handy vaccine-finder tool, which will show you the nearest locations where you can get vaccinated.

This notification is also available in almost 20 other countries, and Facebook plans on increasing that number soon. In places outside the US, the notification links to that country’s ministry of health website.

Facebook Continues Its COVID-19 Vaccine Campaign

Facebook has been rather tough on misinformation surrounding the COVID-19 vaccines, and has been rolling out measures to increase awareness and education about the shot. As vaccines become readily available in your area, don’t be surprised if Facebook is the first to tell you that you’re eligible to get one.
