While smartphones are great and have sufficient cameras, their editing features leave a lot to be desired. Sometimes you need to add more flair to your images and videos—that’s where Snapchat comes in.

Snapchat has a host of filters that take your videos and images up a notch, allowing you to create beautiful, engaging content. But how do you then share your Snapchat creations with your friends on other apps?

Up until now, you might have been taking screenshots and screen recordings of your Snapchat-edited images and videos to share with your friends. But there’s a better way.

Snapchat allows you to save images and videos to your phone to watch later or to share directly with your friends. This allows you to share the actual content as it is, instead of video links. When it comes to videos, this makes it more likely that your friends will actually watch the videos you send them.

How to Save Other Snapchat Users’ Videos to Your Phone

Person using iPhone

Much like any other social media app, Snapchat is full of viral videos, videos that are funny and relevant, and so much more.

Considering the wide variety of niches that are catered for on the app, you’re likely to find videos that appeal to you and that you’d probably want to save to your phone and share with your friends.

You may even find users whose pages you frequent because their content appeals to you. In this case, you’d want to save that content to your phone’s camera roll to share with friends. You may have even tried to do this to no avail.

That’s because Snapchat doesn’t let you download other users’ videos or photos. That means your only options are to take a screenshot of their photo, or to do a quick screen recording of their video.

Though you should be aware that they might receive a screenshot notification when you do.

You should also note that some users might not want you recording their posts on the app.

Because of Snapchat’s ability to save the Snaps you’ve created and uploaded to Stories, you’re able to share your genius creations with your real-life friends.

And even though you can’t save other people’s Snaps in the same way, your smartphone’s functions make that possible. In essence, technology helps us merge our online lives with our real lives, allowing us to cross-share content and expand the lifespan of our Snaps.
